Lawn Day

Work has been consuming me the past two days. I am really ready for the weekend. There always seems to be that one person who just gets under your skin isn't there. This one actually reminds me of my mother, or myself probably for that matter who knows.

I helped the boy and his parents with the new house last night after work. It was really nice here (except that I had huge welts from the MN State Bird. . . the mosquito when I got home) so we were able to get a good portion of the lawn fixed and cleaned up. It really was starting to take shape when we left and there was not too much more to do. I love yard and lawn work and planting and such so that stuff is fun for me. I was exhausted though by the time that I got home. Shower and straight to bed for me.

This morning I got up and drove out to stand in the queue for the Junkmarket Sale. I am so glad that I got there when I did because the line was HUGE when I left and I was in and out of there in 40 minutes. I picked up a metal picnic basket for my collection and a cute Halloween decoration, but most importantly I got some cute and really good ideas. I am going to try a couple of them so I will be getting back to you on them in the future. One idea I did get from there that I may use in my new house is an idea for a temporary dining table. They took an old wooden door with 4 glass panes on it and put old maps under the glass. Then they propped the door on saw horses and it just looked really cool. Might be something neat to try temporarily until I find the table I am looking for. I am sure I am going to have a few temporary items.

Going to dinner with the boy and his mom and dad tonight to celebrate his birthday. It is nice that they invited me. I did have fun working outside with them last night and enjoy their company so I am sure it will be a lot of fun. This weekend will be full. Tomorrow night I am going to the movies with the boy and his friend Wade to see The Black Dahlia so I am looking forward to that. Saturday there is an auction my mom would like me to go to and I am also going to hit a couple of the architectural salvage places. Sunday is the Vikings home opener and there are a bunch of us going. I had thought about planning a tailgate, but I also thought I was going to be moving and such, so I thought it would be too much. We are taking a party bus down which should be fun though too, this way we don't have to really worry about designated drivers either.

Tomorrow I am having lunch with Tim, a friend from Target, I am looking forward to catching up with him and seeing how things are there. It is casual day, and I am leaving straight from work to the movies so I will have to come up with something later tonight. I do have my argyle J.Crew from last Winter, that may be an option.
