Allergies, frustrations and life in general

So I had to go and be tested for allergies this morning. You know the one where they poke you in your back about 50 times just to see how you will react? Well, that always feels good. There were a couple of things I already knew that I was allergic to, like shrimp (which from what I understand is a huge bummer) and all of the 'cillen's. I had some pretty bad reactions to dust mites and mold as well as three different trees and cats. So I am now medicated and have been told that if I don't carry an epi pen with me at all time, if I should come into contact with shrimp I have about 15 minutes. So I will be carrying the epi pen. It really took a lot out of me though because they did have to give me something after we were all done, so I am pretty beat and working from home.

The boy. . . well, he went to the doctor yesterday, a civilian doctor, to get checked out for his high blood pressure, like they told him to. It was still high and they told him he had a mild case of hypertension. He is now on medical hold. What does this mean? Oh who knows. Well, it could mean that he might go with the group in May, if they send a group in May. Or June, or July. . . you get my point. He has to have three consistent normal readings in a row. I am not sure if he will be able to get that or not, even with the medication. If it does not happen, they may just release him at the end of his contract in September. But until then we just walk around on egg shells and wait (for the other shoe to drop) and we continue on with our lives (and I slip him some extra salt from time to time. . . KIDDING!!!).

So we have just been enjoying time together, down time. Last night it snowed and it was freezing here, this morning when we got up it was 12 but felt like 4. . .ummmm, it is April 4th right? Man that is just way too cold! I made us some broiled salmon for dinner, it was really good, I brushed it with a mayonnaise/wasabi mixture and then sprinkled crushed potato chips on top. Very tasty. Then we sat and chatted and I made the music playlist, with some help of course. He really likes the whole blog thing, I just am not sure that I am ready to share my outside voice with him yet. . .

Fellow epi pen carrier (peanuts & shellfish) - if you find a styling/convenient way to tote yours around, let me know :)

Ummm yeah, hello, I think I am getting an ulcer from all of this. I can tell you this much, between the boy and I we have lost 10 lbs since we found out. Wellllllll. . . I think my new found kisses will be able to help me out in that department.

Hmm... that's good(?) news. I understand though that not knowing is worse than knowing. (re: deployment) I hope it all works out for the best.

OK that scares me because I have been going to the allergist for years, and they always told me that I didn't need an EPI pen. I am allergic to all shellfish, and I can't tell you how many odd stories that have happened with me almost eating something that will supposedly kill me. I guess there are so many levels of allergies. I am also allergic to everything outside! I swear my face looks like I gained 5 lbs. because it is so puffy!
