Ready for August!

Sometimes January seems like the renewal of a new year, but it is hard for me to let go of the school years and think about a new wardrobe, new notebooks and a new planner. I love setting goals and making lists and typically this was the time of year that I did that. I figure this year shouldn't be any different.

I love planners and calendars, and the Lilly Pulitzer ones have been my favorites over the past few years. That and they go perfectly in my office. This year they offered a jumbo size in addition to the agenda and mini size and I thought it would be perfect to sit down with every Sunday and look at birthdays and cards to get out and any other special events. The boy and I share a google calendar which is also on our phones which actually works really well for us, but I figure this is something that is all mine.

I have also had the traditional planner agenda for the past couple of years from Kate Spade, and I love the bright patent pink, but I tend to only take it out at meetings and such.

Can't wait to start filling these up!

It's a Lilly Lilly Summer!

I love my Lilly. So far this summer has been wonderful. I have been getting in a lot of Lilly time too! My favorite part about Summer is wearing my Lilly and the bright colors that make me so happy and I think my favorite part about all of my Lilly is all of the bright colors and beautiful patterns.

I am wearing a lot from a couple of seasons ago, but everywhere I go in it, someone comments (since we only have one Lilly store here in Minnie, and I hardly EVER see anyone wearing it, that may be why as well).

Some of what I have been wearing

I had to wear two different dresses last Wednesday for National Wear Your Lilly Day!

Pink and Green Thursday! Happy Birthday Lilly!

Happy 80th Birthday Lilly!

I am a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer, as most of you know. I have been wearing it for years, but now with all of the new Lilly products I have been able to incorporate it into my everyday life!

My wall calendar.

Love my Lilly fragrances!

Put me in a Lilly dress and it makes my day!
A box of Lilly Animal crackers in my lunch adds to the menu!

The three dresses below are summer staples!

A Lilly sticker on a note to a friend!

Grabbing my morning tea in my travel mug!

Definitely on my wish list, the Lilly bike!

Keeping track of my day to day activities!

The Murfee scarf adds that pop of color to almost any outfit!

That special note card to send a note to a friend!

Definitely needed for that glass of wine at the end of the day!

The bag that is with me constantly on the go
The tumbler that is always filled with water in my car, next to my bed, sitting on my desk

The night light in my office!

Happy Birthday Lilly, sweet wishes who has brought smiles and brightness to the world!

Pink and Green Thursday

It is FINALLY getting nice here and I put a Lilly dress on yesterday and it just felt better. . . Weird how that can happen, no? I was given a couple of gift cards to Melly, our local Lilly store for my birthday, just trying to decide how to spend it. . .

Just another Manic Sunday. . .I mean Monday

I have been working all weekend. It bites, but I do love my home office. I wish it was done the way that I want it to be, but I still love looking out the windows and looking at life going by. We have had some really pretty snowfalls going on, just light fluffy snow falling down, and there is a ton of snow already on the ground. It makes you feel like you are in a snow globe. Yesterday the neighbor boy and his friend down the street were having a snowball fight, tackling one another, climbing up and down snow embankments. It was so cute, it took me back to the days when my sister and I would spend all day outside playing in the snow. Sledding down hills, building forts and eating icicles. Nowadays, I am in and out as quickly as possible. Loving the fact that we have a heated garage and then I drive to work in a heated garage, some days I don't even wear a coat.

I worked from home today, which was nice, but I feel as though I got hit by a bus, so I wasn't as productive. Still have my Christmas decorations to sort out, hopefully tomorrow. I did make a huge pot of bean and ham soup and the boy brought home some crusty bread, perfect. This week is full of work of course, but a couple of fun things to look forward to. . .a favorite restaurant for dinner with friends C & P who are moving back to the East coast too, all of my New England friends are abandoning me here and returning to their roots! We also have my holiday Christmas party Saturday night at a fancy restaurant downtown. I cannot WAIT to get all dressed up and head downtown. I was really excited to see that Lilly had a LBD named Jillie, now what is a girl to do. . .I am trying to decide between these two, what do you think? And I decided I am definitely going to have my hair put up, I don't get to do it often enough and I love it all done up! So which dress do you like better?

Graduation Party Outfit

It is supposed to be in the mid - 80's here tomorrow. While it is dreary and misty today, tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous and sunny. Perfect day to wear this

Its not really an occasion for a new Lilly, but I had a couple of gift cards to our local Lilly Signature store Melly.

I still have to go into the shoe closet to decide which pair to wear. The best part about this dress. . . it is reversible!
In case it gets cold (which I don't think it will, but I know it will go with so much more this summer) I also picked up the Katia knit wrap in classic white.
I have a couple other favorites from Lilly recently, I love summer and the bright Lilly prints!

A Hunting We Will Go!

So this past weekend, the boy and I joined my sister at 6:30 am for what has become an annual outing. It was the annual sale for the Children's Cancer Research Fund. I can usually find one or two treasures along with some good books, but I hit the jackpot this year. Look what I found,
along with this, which reverses to pink
and this, which reverses to green.

I was so excited, $10 for the bag and extra covers. And the bonus part, I have three covers at home that I had bought at Marshall Fields when they were going out of business and turning over to Macy's. I bought them thinking that the wooden frame would not be that hard to find. I have had a watch on eBay on them for over two years, but they usually go pretty high at around $45 and I just could not bring myself to pay that for a cloth pocketbook.

This was my book haul. Looks like I got some pretty good titles of things I have been wanting to read and for $1 each! But we won't discuss how little reading I have been doing lately. Or how I did on my summer reading list. I guess I shouldn't even post a fall list. I want to, but I just know that right now it is not realistic. I will make more time though, the boy and I have discussed it.
After we left the sale, we decided to hit up an estate sale. I just love these adorable bags, and $12 each? I could not go wrong.
The detail of the needlework on this I just love.
I have cute little strappy silver heels that go perfectly with this one, can't you just see it with a LBD?
Later on in the day, while the boy was mowing his lawn, I decided to check into a consignment shop in his neighborhood. Occasionally people will bring in some interesting stuff, so sometimes I stop in to see what they have.

I was so excited to see these, like new, still in the box! I had all three of these when I was a kid and played with them like crazy. I would always take them with me to my paternal grandmothers house because she would always play with them with me. The stands and all of the clothes are all there and they are all in perfect condition. I am hoping my niece will play with them while she is at my house like I did. What a find.
I just love a successful day of hunting! Such a sense of satisfaction.

Friends T & G for dinner tonight. I am making the chicken enchiladas from the JLM cookbook "Always Superb" I will post the recipe and let you know how they turn out.
