For Today...

Outside my Window…it is gorgeous here today, it is supposed to get up to 62 and is sunny, so a beautiful sunny day!

I am thinking…that it is a perfect night for a fall BBQ with friends!

I am thankful for…the weekend! I have a TON going on, but I am so ready for the weekend, it has been a long and stressful week!

From the kitchen…not much this weekend! We are headed to friends for a last minute BBQ tonight, I have some brownies I will be bringing that I did not make. Tomorrow about the only thing from the kitchen is going to be some berries from the fridge as I walk out the door in the morning, we will be gone the whole day. Yesterday was the boys parents 49^th Anniversary, so I will make\bring a dessert over!

I am wearing…Rachel Pally black flare pants (so super comfy for a Friday!) a black tissue turtleneck, a gray cotton cable sweater vest and super cute plaid gray, black and burgundy flats.

I am reading…A few things as always, Vera Bradley "Cooking with Friends" love the recipes in here, getting lots of ideas! "The Find" by Stan Williams, I had just added this to my Wish List and then *poof* as I was walking through Home Goods to get some things at Michael's the other night, there it was! And last but not least Rachel Ray's "Book of 10". As well as my gossip rags for the week.

I am hoping…that I can catch up on things this weekend and get things crossed off of my ta-list as well as kick back and enjoy the weekend!

I am hearing…a conference call. . . . all day long!

Around the house…Harvest decorations are out and need a little tweaking! Laundry of course needs to get done this weekend and I am beginning to get organized for the holidays and get my lists created!

One of my favorite things…is leaving work early on a Friday and relax before the BBQ!

For Today...

Outside my Window...it is warmer, about 42 today, but very dreary :( at least all of the snow will be gone soon I hope! I hate it when it gets so dirty and leaves my truck so dirty.

I am thinking...how nice it is to not have to be at work!

I am thankful for…my parents coming back from AZ this weekend. I know it is a month earlier than they wanted to, but it will be nice to have them back.

From the kitchen…nada, zilch, I have a terrible head cold. The boy is picking up a take and bake pizza on his way home.

I am wearing…comfy black yoga pants and a long sleeve soft Jcrew tee. I feel like blech.

I am reading…the new Jcrew catalog, the new PB catalog, Fitness and the new Rachel Ray Mag.

I am hoping...that this head cold goes away and does not get worse, I am hoping I caught it before it got really bad.

I am hearing…Max snoring at my feet and Twin Cities Live on in the background.

Around the house…I am thinking about decorating for Easter. . . No fun projects even!

One of my favorite things…is listening to the boy talk to Max, it just cracks me up.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…I have an important meeting tomorrow morning, which could change some things in life. Other than that, the Home and Garden Show which should be fun, mum and dad return and the American Girl Fashion Show which my niece is in on Sunday. Well, I guess we are scheduled to look at a couple of houses as well as have our regular Sunday dinner with the boys parents. So a busier weekend than I thought!

Outside my Window…it is snowing like you would not believe. We are supposed to get 6 to 8 inches, but we already have 6 and it is still coming down.

I am thinking…that I was just getting ready to break out the capris and flip flops, what is up with this?

I am thankful for…the boy coming home early from work (they closed) and making me a fire.

From the kitchen…steak fajitas tonight. Num. I probably should bake something, but I am just not a baker.

I am wearing…yoga pants, long sleeve tee and cardigan, SUPER comfy cozy!

I am reading…Eat This Not That Supermarket Survival Guide. Very interesting and while I have not exactly learned a lot, it does help make better choices. Stick to the outside and stay out of the aisles.

I am hoping…that the snow lets up and they get the roads plowed good so that I can go and finish my errands tomorrow!

I am hearing…Twin Cities Live on in the background, and the boy folding laundry.

Around the house…getting ready for the Mardi Gras party Saturday.

One of my favorite things…is sitting by the fire, with a nice glass of red, watching the sun come down.

Outside my Window…it is sunny today, but still OH SO COLD! In the office again today, it is good to see people, but would have been nice to just stay at home and work too!

I am thinking…about warm weather, the smell of summer. . . .

I am thankful for…good friends getting me through low points.

From the kitchen…ohhhh, last night I made the BEST baked potato soup ever and it was SO easy. NUM! Today I have a roast with veggies in the crock pot. I am trying to do one crock-pot meal per week and I had wanted to do the scalloped potatoes with ham, but, I was out of potatoes!!!!

I am wearing…a new brown and camel cowl neck sweater with brown pants. I love this sweater and I got it on sale sale sale.

I am reading…March Good Housekeeping. I love this magazine. I feel old reading it, but there are so many good things that I discover in here and it has been around forever.

I am hoping…that this weekend is nice and relaxing, we have very few plans, but two parties Sunday.

I am hearing…office noise. Being in the office is kind of nice once in a while.

Around the house…I need to put away the Valentine's decorations and get ready for the Mardi Gras party!

Outside my Window… it is scary cold at -21 but the really bad part is the wind-chill which makes it feel like -36. They are telling us we are in for a heat wave however, they told us we just need to get through the next 36 hours.

I am thinking…that I will be working from home again today. It is just dangerous to go out.

I am thankful for…friends and family, my job and food on my table.

From the kitchen…I have two soups that I would like to cook up, I am thinking today is a good day!

I am wearing…yoga pants, a turtleneck and a long sweater, slippers of course.

I am reading…"Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea" it was a Christmas gift from the boy and very funny.

I am hoping…that it warms up so that we can take my nephew Jack skiing on Saturday!

I am hearing…The DJ's on the radio give away a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico. I didn't win. But I am still thinking I may need to get away.

Around the house…I need to create a new mantle display on my fireplace. I have two ideas that I am going to try today, I thinking kind of a winterscape, ideas and suggestions VERY welcome.

One of my favorite things…is the kiss good-bye in the morning when the boy leaves, that is how I wake up, my alarm clock.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…screening of "Defiance" tonight, gotta love Daniel Craig. Pick my nephew up for an overnight Friday and skiing Saturday. A friends graduation party Saturday night, "Revolutionary Road" and dinner with the boy and his parents Sunday.

Around the house...it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The tree is up, the mantle is decorated and the table is set.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...A screening of Valkyrie tonight as well as a bite out, tomorrow night a cocktail party at sister J's, company holiday party Saturday and a trip to MOA with mom, my sister and niece Gracie to check out the new American Girl Store as well as finalizing the menu for my holiday party the 13th and doing the first round of shopping as well as prepping anything I can. It would be nice to get a few presents wrapped and my cards out!

I am thinking...gas prices are outrageous, I need to get away for a week, I do not want to go to the "bachelorette" party this weekend, what should I make for dinner, I better get back to planning weekly menus.

From the kitchen...made steak sandwiches last night, but it is fresh fruit and yogurt for lunch today.


I am creating...a better plan for the wine club that I have been neglecting for a while now.

I am hoping...to keep my sanity through the "wedding" festivities over the next two weeks and reminding myself to keep biting my tongue.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... getting my ta-da list sorted, wrap a couple of presents, figure out what to get someone who turned 40 that I have nothing in common with and who is not one of my favorite people but is one of those, things I need to do, hope to see sister S's new baby. Look at the next couple of months and make sure calendars are synced up. Balance my budget.
