On the Menu Monday (MPM) - Week 7

Another Sunday where I got caught off guard and did not get my updates done like I wanted to. But all for a good cause. So now everything is late and I am going to be doing catch up all week I am afraid. But, sometimes you just have to roll with things.

We had a really nice weekend. Friday I had to work late, a lot later for a Friday especially, so the boy and I decided to head out for some HH and to take in the opening ceremonies. We were lucky enough to meet a friends new puppy just as they were picking her up. She is SO cute! Maddie is a cockapoo, but definitely more cocker than poodle.

Saturday we ran errands like crazy, and then we decided on a whim to stop into a furniture store not far from us that we had never been into. Well, of course we fell in love with this recliner and then found a sectional we really liked, that and a Presidents Day sale and we were re-doing our living room. Can't wait to see how it turns out and comes together.

We also saw The Wolf of Wall Street which was on our list of movies to see. We both really liked it a lot, great film and I really feel as though Leo deserved that nomination. No Oscar party for us this year. I am so bummed but we just could not figure out how to swing it with so many other things that we have going on. The Academy Awards moved to the first weekend in March, which is also the Twin Cities Food and Wine show which we volunteer at and love going to. We had a really nice dinner out too, I rarely turn down salmon when it is on a menu.

Sunday we spent most of the day working on the house, and then rearranging the furniture in the living room to see how the room could lay out better with some of the new pieces we were looking at. We made a temporary change to the room, and so far we really like the way it is laid out, but of course I can't wait for all of the changes. Our big battle is the "ugly" rock wall. People are divided, they either like it or they don't. The boy and I are on the don't side of things and he has drawn up some great plans for the room.

After we ran a few errands, we got a call from a friend that needed a ride and we were more than happy to oblige since he said that he would be making us dinner! They were also the friends who just got their puppy, Maddie, so, a little one on one time with the new puppy sounded fabulous. It did mean giving up our Sunday evening at home, but it was well worth it.

This week we don't have a super busy week, but we do have some plans here and there.

Monday
Plans - Home, finish cleaning out the cabinets I started yesterday and laundry.
Breakfast and Lunch - Yogurt, fruit, cottage cheese
Dinner - This was a recipe fail. I tried making an Ina Garten Lemon and Chicken recipe, but we didn't care for it. I will post it tomorrow and see if anyone has any suggestions or additions to make it tastier.

Tuesday
Plans - Neighborhood Bunco, I really look forward to this once a month gathering with the neighbor girls
Breakfast and Lunch - Fruit, yogurt, cheese and crackers
Dinner - Turkey Tater tot hot dish (this is one of the boys favorites, so since I am out for the night thought it would be a good idea to make it for him, I used ground turkey instead of ground beef).

Plans - Home
Breakfast and Lunch - Fruit, yogurt and then I caved and went to the cafeteria and got a cheeseburger and french fries, weak, I know.
