Restaurant Review - Scusi

So we already had to change things up a bit. We had a Crowd Cut due to expire on Thursday at Scusi. Since I am going to be out of town, we decided to use it last night. This is a place I have been wanting to check out for a while but have missed out on opportunities due to work.

They have a very unique menu which is perfect for small bites, olives, meats and cheeses, as well as some wonderful appetizers calamari, duck confit. Their wine list is also wonderful, I was looking forward to their special Valpolicella but unfortunately they were out of it, so I had a wonderful Montepulciano Abruzzo which was excellent.

It was hard to make a decision as to what to order, but our waiter was wonderful and very helpful. I started with the Arugula Prosciutto salad, which had crispy prosciutto, dried cherries, pear, wonderful shaved parmesan and was drizzled with a rich aged balsamic. The boy had the grilled caesar which he also loved, but was a lot bigger than what I was looking for.
I was going back and forth between the duck risotto and the butternut squash risotto and asked the waiter for his opinion. He said that they were both really good, but if you like duck, to go with the duck. Duck is not something I have very often, but definitely enjoy the decadence when I do have it. It did not disappoint. The figs added such a sweetness to the richness, it was delicious and the perfect amount.
I would definitely go back, I would really like to try their other risotto's and they also had some fabulous looking desserts which of course we were too full for. Italian is definitely one of my favorite types of foods and we are definitely lucky enough to have some great Italian restaurants in the twin cities, Pazzaluna, Al Vento, Broders are some of our favorites, but Scusi is definitely going to the top of the list for me!
