Last year at this time, I was in so much pain from my shoulder I could hardly stand it. January 21st brought shoulder surgery and an 8 week at home recovery period that I thought was going to be a lot easier than it was. So while we did host a 70th birthday party for the boys mom later that month, it was pretty uneventful.
February was another month of just rest and recuperation. I did do a little decorating for Valentine's Day, but not much.
I did make a wreath while watching the Olympics which I really enjoyed.
I did go back to work in March, and I did host the girls from Junior League for dinner, so things started to pick up a bit. . . We also had a really fun girls weekend, and friends came up for a long weekend. and I also celebrated a milestone birthday. . . .
In April, we hosted Easter again which was a ton of fun, but I am not sure if I have any pictures, still searching for those. And we also got to take in one of my favorite bands of all time, Bon Jovi.
In May we took a small weekend trip and headed up to Duluth to get away for the weekend. . .
We also hosted our mom's for a mother day lunch which was a ton of fun.
We started house hunting in May, and even had offers in on a couple of houses. It seems like all we did for a couple of months was house hunt. Got some great ideas as we looked at a ton of houses and finally heard in June that our offer had been approved on our house. Then it took FOREVER to close and our lives were pretty much put on hold as we waited and waited to move. During this time I decided I didn't want to commute to the current client I had been working on, so I finished that job up and started a new one downtown, which I love, although it is a TON of work, but extremely challenging, and I am working with some great people. My camera was stolen in September, which had most of the pictures on it from the summer, and I had not transferred any of them. Lesson Learned! Now I am doing it on a much more regular basis.
So, June, July and August, were pretty much a blur. We did get up the lake a couple of times and we even made it up there with our good friends K & J from CT, and C & P who have now moved to OH. I am so glad that we got to spend a long weekend with our friends up at the lake before they moved away, and we did have a ton of fun. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the weekend, but it was still a great time and we have our memories.
We moved August 3rd. Work started getting crazy. I tried to figure out a new balance. We started projects. We started with our 1/2 bathroom, I still love the way it turned out.
We also said goodbye to some wonderful friends (and hosted our first dinner party in our new house!) who we truly miss.
I made another wreath, this one for Halloween,
We finished our Master Bath Project, which I am enjoying. . .
I made another wreath for my niece. . .
We had a really great first Christmas in our house together. . .We had a wonderful New Year as well, and we are looking forward to an awesome 2011!
