Movie Review - The Tourist

The boy and I ventured out at the last minute for a screening of "The Tourist". I got an email from a friend at the last minute with the passes and we decided to leave work at a somewhat normal hour and catch the movie. I didn't know that much about the movie, other than the fact that it had Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in it. I am not a huge Angelina Jolie fan, I just have some personal issues with her. I don't get how someone can go from being married to Billy Bob Thorton, wearing a blood vile around her neck, basically french kissing her brother, an off again on again relationship with her parents, making a play for a married man, and then fathering his children (this is my assumption, although I do believe Brad is just as much to blame) and then is this total good doer. Adopt all these kids, feed the starving children and so forth. I just don't get it. BUT, to each their own.

I think that she is an interesting looking woman. She has a different kind of beauty, but really all this movie did was show her looking gorgeous. There was not a lot of depth to her character, and I thought she was very blase. I do like Johnny Depp as an actor, and I thought he was pretty good. The movie takes place in Venice, Italy and the scenery is gorgeous. I don't want to give too much away about the movie, other than to say that I thought it was very entertaining, and yes there is a romantic love plot between Depp and Jolie, which they make it seem like it is unrealistic, but truth be told, I am not sure I know too many people that kick Depp out for eating chips in bed.

Bottom line, go see it if you have seen everything else that is out. Otherwise, wait for DVD.

Ya I am not a big fan of her either! I do love Johnny! I think from what I have seen on previews he looks really funny in this!
Happy Thursday!
