My boss came into my cube this morning, took one look at me and said, you look tired. Your eyes just look tired, they don't have your spark. Nice I thought, but I like that he doesn't mince words and at least he is perceptive. There is a good reason for that. The boy and I went to see Bon Jovi last night! We saw them when they were here
two years ago, but last night was extra special. The boys cousins wife,
Alison Scott, opened for them!
It was a last minute deal, but it was so worth it to see her and her band perform in such a huge venue like that. We had a blast and I really think that they were so much better this year than two years ago. This was one of our favorite songs and moments of the night, it was more acoustic and they all came to the front of the stage to play.
We also saw some interesting things that will probably scar me for life. We had some really great floor seats, right next to the sound system and mixing guys. We were able to watch the comings and goings and see what they were putting up on the screen. We also had an excellent view of the stage though too.
One of the stage/bouncer/security guys (this is him here)
managed to not get one, but two young women dancing and talking with him. He was buying them drinks (which they clearly did not need any more of) and then they were back in with him behind the sound boards. Next thing you know he is making out with THEM. That was interesting to say the least. But, now I guess I know how these things happen. Poor guy, he could have even had the girl that was sitting next to us back there with him as well. She kept going up to him while he had his arms wrapped around BOTH of the other women, telling him how she would do anything to get back there as well. I think they all just wanted the opportunity to meet the band. Rockstar Groupies, something I guess I am just not familiar with. I think I did have a crush on Rick Springfield and Vanilla Ice way back when though. . . .but SO not a groupie. . .
It was great people watching though. The Bon Jovi demographics is definitely people still stuck in the 80's with the bad perms and acid wash jeans. And mom's who never get out of the house. There were a group of very drunk women in the bathroom (30's and early 40's I would say) living it up like you would not believe, cackling away. They said, excuse us, this is the first time we have been out of the house without kids in 15 years! In fact one of the Bon Jovi tour t-shirts on the back said, "My mom went to Bon Jovi. . .and didn't come home" I thought that was hysterical!
What a great date night, with one of the best dates!
