Updates!

Still in recovery mode, thank you to everyone who sent sweet wishes my way, greatly appreciated. I can almost dress myself, still having problems with shoes, socks and some of my shirts and sweaters. We have a wedding reception this weekend for friends that were married back in November. The thought of putting on stockings is tough, I do not know how that is going to go over. I have been wearing sweats or elastic waist pants due to the fact that I can't really use both arms to pull things up, so this is going to be interesting.

We have not been out and about too much, but we did go out for lunch and a couple of movies (Edge of Darkness and Percy and the Lightening Thief) for Valentine's Day. It was nice to get out and about and get some fresh air. I have also started being able to cook some more things for us, but if there is a lot of chopping or cutting, I need the boys assistance. We had friends M & M over for dinner last week and I made a rosemary and garlic leg of lamb, truffled mashed potatoes (the boy mashed) and steamed asparagus along with a mixed green, pear, candied walnut and red onion salad. It was a nice dinner and I was so happy to find other friends to cook for who enjoy lamb.

This week our menu looked like this
Sunday - Lunch out, popcorn at the movies
Monday - Chicken Marsala
Tuesday - Moraccan Pilaf (to use leftover lamb)
Wednesday - Macaroni and Cheese (Ash Wednesday)
Thursday - Dinner out with the boys parents and screening of "Shutter Island"
Friday - Wine Event "An Event of Olympic Proportions" looking forward to this, but I will have to remember no meat with all of the good foods that will be there!
Saturday - Wedding Reception

My days have been pretty boring. I spend four hours a day on this thing.
Fun stuff I tell you, but it beats having to figure out how to get back and forth to physical therapy two to three times a week considering I can't drive at the moment.

I have been able to work on some projects here and there, will post those soon. So I try to keep a little busy. I have read quite a few books, magazines, watched some TV series on the Roku, as well as some movies. But truthfully, most of the time, bored, bored, bored. Which can get pretty depressing. I have been thinking a lot lately about the past few winters here. This marks my fourth winter here in Minnie, and looking back on all of them, I really go through a slump in the winter. I am thinking it may be S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder). For the past 7 weeks or so, I am lucky if I have gotten out of the house more than twice, but truth be told with the weather we have here, I don't really care to. I am thinking I may have to hit the tanning bed just to get some rays and some pick me ups. I am definitely looking forward to the Spring, May cannot get here soon enough. I know that the boy and I would have gone away this winter if it had not have been for this shoulder. Oh well.

Thanks again for all of the well wishes. I would post more if there were anything exciting going on, but there is just not a lot going on when I spend my days with me, myself and I.
