What a weekend! Thursday evening the boy and I went to a wine tasting to welcome the new Beaujolais Nouveau, very good and a nice short evening. It was held at this fabulous new condo complex in Minnetonka, owned by the parents of a friend from Junior League. Interesting home, the condo is just starting to fill up now, but they have lived there for almost a year and a half. They built it from the inside out, they bought three units and made it into one. The mother did all of the interior decorating and design herself, very high end and very nice.
Friday the boy went to paint and I had a couple of the girls over. We ate some great food, they brought some wonderful desserts and we drank wine and just hung out. A nice relaxing evening. The boy wanted to finish the painting, so he painted through the night getting home at 5:30 am. He slept for a couple of hours and then we got up and hit a few estate sales and had some breakfast at Perkins. I dropped him off for some sleep and then headed over to my new "job" as a tour guide at Summit Brewery. I just poured beer, but my friend J from out East and his fiance stopped in for the tour so I got to enjoy a beer with them!
It was a great day. I got some errands done in preparation for Sunday and then headed home to wake up the boy from a much needed nap.
We decided to head out, finish up some errands and grab some dinner at Maggiano's. I had heard from one of the sisters that they had pretty good food and salads. We really enjoyed it and I am sure we will be back. I am glad that we had made reservations, we were seated right away while there was a good 45 minute wait. We also stopped into one of my favorite places, JCrew. I wanted to check out a few things and wound up walking out with a few items, a couple of gift ideas for the boy and I was also able to drop a couple of hints as well!
Sunday, we stopped back at an estate sale we had been to the day before. After talking about it the night before at dinner, we thought that upgrading my dining room set to something larger and nicer might be in my best interest. So we came home with this. I am going to recover the seats, but it has three leafs so it can expand to seat twelve which is really nice.
It worked out perfectly because Sunday evening we had my parents and the boys parents over for spaghetti and meatballs. It was the first time they were meeting and everyone seemed to have a good time even though I made enough meatballs for an army. I am really looking forward to getting my place decorated for the holidays, my mom and I were making plans and talking about different things. I am really looking forward to it. How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

Sounds like another busy and fun weekend. I LOVE Maggianos! We went there recently to celebrate our anniversary.
You find the most amazing things at estate sales! That dining room set looks gorgeous, the perfect setting for a "meet the parents" dinner.
