The girls over at Sisters with Style have bestowed the honor of the Nice Matters Award on me. I am truly appreciative and I think it is very thoughtful of them to recognize me in such a way.
This got me thinking though the other day. Does nice matter? Does it matter if you do everything you can to be nice to someone, and then they still don't care or don't recognize the fact that you do. Sometimes we try to go out of our way for people, or be there for them when they need us, or just give them a heads up that we would be there if they did need us. But does it really matter?
I have tried to build friendships here in MN. I have sent invitations out, heard nothing back from some people. I have continued to invite people to things, only to not get any invitations myself. I email or call people just to say hello and keep in touch with them once I have moved on from a job or such, to hear nothing in return. Now some of them are great, don't get me wrong, but there are other friendships that I have just been disappointed by, but I guess maybe they just weren't for me. Nice guys finish last? Nice matters. I think it does, and I will continue to just be myself, whether people think that is nice or not, that is for them to decide, but I do appreciate being recognized for just being nice. There are others that I think are pretty nice, here are some of them,
Hope you all have a "nice" day!
