The boy and I had a fabulous weekend, fast and fun-filled!
Friday I found out my favorite cousin, whom I also refer to as my Uncle was in town from Iowa for training. We were headed to a BBQ at a friend of the boys that night so we brought him along. It was a fabulous evening, the food was wonderful (a great taco dip with chips which I will attempt this weekend) and some burgers and brats on the grill. The weather was also wonderful, but the June bugs seem to be out a little earlier this year and one decided to fly down the front of my shirt, now I am not fearful of spiders or bugs, but I can tell you I did not enjoy this and proceeded to get a little freaked out and flung it at our hostess who was none too pleased, but we did get a good laugh out of it. It was a good time.
Saturday the boy and I got up early for the tag sale. I had never done one of these on my own, but we opened at 8, it was a tad cloudy, but the weather quickly warmed up and I sat outside, read and enjoyed the sunshine and beautiful weather while the boy was able to work on his lawn, which is dried out already. We got rid of quite a bit of stuff and it was a successful venture. I am glad that it was only one day and that there were quite a few other sales in the neighborhood though.
After we packed up the sale we got ready and headed over to a birthday party. The temperature somehow managed to drop about 30 degrees that evening, so while the party started outdoors it quickly moved indoors. It was so much fun to catch up with friends I had not seen in a while and to celebrate a special birthday for such a special person. I had so much fun putting her gift together as well, I should have taken a picture of it.
Sunday the boy and I ventured out for brunch and then the farmers market where we purchased flowers and herbs to get planted and put out. We ran errands and took care of some necessary weekend tasks and headed over to his parents for the Sunday night dinner which was very nice. A great ending for a wonderful weekend.
Now I am gearing up and getting my list ready for a long 5-day weekend this coming weekend and I cannot wait. It is going to be a busy week before that though. Tomorrow night we have dinner at a new restaurant in town with friends, Wednesday I have a networking event and Thursday a wine event for my club at one of my mom's stores. A fun week, but busy and somehow I will have to throw in there taking the boy's mother in for an angiogram and packing and getting food ready for the weekend. Luckily all of the food has been decided (there will be 15 of us up there throughout the weekend so we split up meals and chose different menus, much easier that way!) and that list has been made, it will just be packing clothes for almost any weather situation and getting the food prepared. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!

Beautiful flowers ... I love mixing red and purple blooms. Last summer we planted red geraniums and purple petunias.
Yeozers, if a june bug flew down my shirt, I would have freaked too! I love the new additions for your garden. Have an excellent extra-long weekend, you've earned it!
