I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We were fortunate enough to have some beautiful weather here this past weekend. I think it may be the last though.
I went out with some of the girls Thursday night. We had a very nice dinner, one of their mothers was in town so she joined us, tried a place I had not been to before, well I was there, but it used to be something else. Pretty good, nice wine list and they have a private dining area, so I think a Wine Club dinner may be in order there. I have everything pretty much booked through December, so this is on the list for January. After dinner, one of the girls and I decided to head into downtown for a drink. We ended up at the tail end of the event that we were going to attend. It was still really crowded and it appeared as though quite a few people had taken advantage of the drink specials. We ran into a couple from the wine club, and at first, I thought they were still wearing their Halloween costumes. I guess I just don't get or understand men wearing eyeliner on a regular basis. The nightcap made for an interesting evening as two gentlemen (I use that term loosely) invited themselves to join us. The first thing they asked is if we had patience, I said of course we did, we are kindergarten teachers. I don't know where it came from or why I said it, but I don't think either of them even cared one way or another. They tried, unsuccessfully, to "pick us up" but I finally excused us saying that we had to get up early the next morning and deal with 70 kids. 32 in the morning and 38 in the afternoon, again, I have no idea why. I guess when I think of patience that is the first thing that comes to mind.
The boy and I caught American Gangster after grabbing a bite to eat at CPK. GREAT movie and definitely see Oscars written all over it. It was a long movie but well worth it. I would actually like to see it again.
Saturday morning I headed out to attend the JLM New Member bus tour. It was a wonderful four hour tour of Minneapolis, a lot of the urban development and along the way information and highlights about past JLM projects. The Junior League has taken on some wonderful projects here in the Twin Cities and I am really looking forward to being a part of it.
The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping at a new Super Target, house chores and cleaning and making a wonderful chicken pot pie (look for the recipe tomorrow!). The boy spent the day painting one of the sisters new loft condo. Pretty cool place, cannot wait to see what it is going to look like when it is done. I am hoping he finishes in the next couple nights so that we can actually do the Twin Cities Loft tour next weekend.
Sunday my sister, the twins and my mom came over and we headed out to meet my Aunt and cousin that I had not seen in two years. We had a really nice brunch and a great time catching up on each others lives. After, we did a little shopping. Earlier that morning my mom and I were going through some of my vintage linens and I decided that I would go with a green and gold decorating scheme for the holiday season based on a great table cloth that I had picked up. In past years I have stuck to pinks, but this year I feel like switching it up a little. It was great to have my mom with shopping, we found Christmas stockings for the boy and I and some great bulbs and some other items. My only problem is that now I want to bust out all of my decorations and decorate for the holidays instead of waiting until after Thanksgiving.
We completed our evening and weekend with dinner at the boys parents and watching some Amazing Race. We picked our teams and I went with the blonds. Should be an interesting season.
How was your weekend?

We saw American Gangster too! I thought it was a great movie! Very gory and made me wince alot!
D. can't wait to see American Gangster. I'm glad that you gave it a good review, I consider you to be the queen of all things movie-related. :)
Sounds like the girls night out was interesting- I love the kindergarten excuse, I'll have to keep that one on file.
I can't wait to see American Gangster!
One thing I miss so much about living in Wisconsin, they have more Targets! And a new Super Target just opened close to my mother. I could spend hours there!
Your weekends are always so full. I can hardly accomplish 2 things per day on the weekends (without a nap).
:)
