So, today is the last day of my 36th year, which means tomorrow I will start having to remember that I am 37. Really at this point it is just a number, but it can be a hard number to remember. I also like to take this day and reflect back on the last year, what did I accomplish, what didn't I accomplish that I wanted to that I can look forward to accomplishing next year. What were some of the better moments in the year, how can I make some of the not so great ones better next year. You know all that good stuff.
Tomorrow night there will be 25 of us attending the MN Swarm match up. Professional Lacrosse, you gotta love it! Part of the proceeds from our tickets will go to benefit Wishes & More® which is an organization that helps wishes come true for children of MN who have been diagnosed with a terminal or long-term illness. I thought this was a great way to bring my friends and family together to celebrate my birthday while also benefiting a great cause.
In keeping with the whole birthday week theme, the boy and I went out last night to celebrate my birthday week with a birthday dinner at Palomino which is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Minneapolis. We had a very nice and very filling dinner and spent some really good one on one time together. I have to treasure each of these moments right now as the next two weeks are going to go by so quickly. It is so hard for me to imagine what life is going to be like without him here. We started making a list of all the things that we need to do and accomplish prior to his departure. Tonight we need to go and get his records from his lasik surgery that he had back in November. Yesterday he picked up all of his dental records and X-rays, next week he has a doctors appointment to check his blood pressure which has been high and he also has an appointment to get his taxes done. There are so many little things that need to happen as well. Good to have a running list of these things though.
It is very rainy here today and is supposed to rain all through the weekend. Tonight we are going to see Meet the Robinson's which looks like a good funny movie, which is just what we need right now! Tomorrow we may hit some estate sales, then we may go to the Omni and catch a couple of films we have been meaning to and then head to The Swarm party. Sunday we are having my family celebration for my birthday, going to brunch and then having cake back at my house. My mom has promised to make my favorite, confetti angel food with whipped frosting and fresh strawberries, num!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
