Manners

There is a decorum that should be used in the work place. I am not sure why some people have a hard time grasping this. There is someone that I work with who is just plain rude and I would so LOVE to say something to her. But that would be using my outside voice so I just keep these thoughts to myself. If I am in before her in the morning, she will say hello to the two gentlemen with offices on either side of me, and ignore me as though I do not even exist. She goes into the gentlemens office to the left of mine everyday looking for candy in his candy jar. This morning, at 8:00 am no less, she says, oh I see you finally filled it up. Like it is his job to contribute to her sweet tooth? The nerve of some people! I smile politely and say hello whenever we make eye contact but I do not go out of my way to be nice to her. I guess I could try killing her with kindness. Maybe I will try that tomorrow as an experiment and see how it goes.

I don't know why I stumbled across this but I did. It is called the Sony Mylo which stands for My Life Online. I might check it out. As long as you live in a Wi-Fi area it could be a useful tool. It has access to IM and Skype as well as a browser. I wonder if it would keep track of my to do lists as well. I used to be a Palm girl, but for some reason I just like to write things down and then have the feeling of accomplishment as I cross things off.

I watched Nip Tuck for the first time last night with my sister and b-i-l. Interesting show. Do I want to get sucked into something else I have to follow on TV, not so much, but my curiosity did get the best of me, so I had to catch it. I like House as well which had it's season premiere last night, but I did not watch it. I really want to curb the whole tv thing and limit it as much as possible. I have so many other things that I would rather and need to do. I really miss tivo though where I could TiVo Oprah and Martha, those are the things that I miss the most.

My niece and nephew started their first day of kindergarten today, I hope that they like it. They are both so incredibly different as twins. Grant is counting to 1000 by 5's, 10's and 20's and is now working on his 3's. He is reading at probably at least a 3rd grade level which concerns me that he may be bored. But he really needs kindergarten for the social aspect. There are just not enough kids in the neighborhood that he plays with so he needs to work on those things. They were really cute though with their little backpacks getting on the bus. Oh to be a kid again.

Still struggling with a birthday gift for the boy. This is a hard one. If he would have had his patio poured it would have been easy as I wanted to get him an outdoor fireplace that he had wanted. But now. . . .I mean it has only been 5 months. . . I want it to be thoughtful and mean something, but I also want it to be something that he will enjoy and remember. I am usually so good with gifts and cannot figure out why I am struggling so much here. I had thought I would just pick him out some clothes since he does not shop and does not have the best taste in his attire. But it is hard to know what size to get him. Any suggestions would be most welcome. I am having dinner with him, his mom and dad on his birthday so I want to give him a little something then, but I also want to have a bigger gift to give him on the day that we celebrate together which will be the day after. Hmmmm. I better go and do some online research!

You will never find time for anything. If you want time you must make it.
