Update!

Can't post a meal plan for the week. We just have not been home at all and now this week, tonight is the only night we will be home, and it looks as though it may be take out since I am in the middle of switching my closets over and it is such a big undertaking and I HAVE to get it done tonight.

Tomorrow night is my first meeting with my new committee for JLM. I am on SEGG this year, focusing on Cookbooks and Dinner Clubs, I am really looking forward to that and know that I will just love it. Wednesday the boy and I are heading to the Twins game with both sets of parents, Thursday is a French themed tasting for the wine club, Friday is dinner at a new place with friends, Saturday we have my nephew coming to stay with us, G, and we are taking him to a fine dining establishment (he loves getting dressed up and going fancy) here, and then to the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and then Sunday is Grand Old Day, so street fair food! SO, it would be a joke to post a meal plan when I have nothing to plan. But, it is summer, and I don't see this letting up until maybe September. I did get a new grill though, but it is still sitting in a box in the garage. It would have been great to just throw some chicken breasts on it tonight, but oh well.

Update: I started this yesterday, but work came first. SO, a continued update. I wound up making chicken with sauteed tomatoes, garlic, basil and a little white wine and pasta. Easy enough. I also continued to work on getting my closets switched over. The good news is, my winter clothes are now stored away. The bad news is, I am still not done. I think I am finally to the point where I need one official Lilly closet. I also decided to lay my closet out differently this year since I really just wear dresses and skirts during the summer, with the occasional capris thrown in. I am not sure when I am going to finish this, most likely tonight when I get home. For the most part it is just hanging and organizing my skirts. I have my sweaters stacked by color, so those just need to be put in place and then my tees, get those put away. Little by little I guess, but when I have so many organizing projects to get done, I just want to get through them!

The boy and I have been keeping very busy. We took a couple of days off and spent six days up at the lake over Memorial Day weekend which was really nice. There was little drama, but just enough to make me go UGH! We were also looking for some nice quiet down time. That didn't happen. His sister unexpectedly came up with two of the kids Sunday over night and then his brother came up Monday to Wednesday. I know that they are family and such, but it still kind of surprises me how they just show up without any food or anything to contribute and then don't even help with prep, cleaning or cooking. NOTHING. We did watch 7 movies though, have you seen "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day"? I LOVED it. I want to see it again. I also read two books and caught up on some magazines. But truth be told, I spent a lot of time cooking and preparing the next meal. I love cooking and BBQ's and such, but it is more fun when there is someone there doing it with you, for the most part, I was on my own unless the boy helped out.

This past weekend was a lot of fun. Sister J and I were co-hosts of a stop along a bar crawl. What a blast. Super fun people and the night, and party just kept going. The boy was busy getting his car ready for the car show the next day, so it was just us girls out for the night. We stayed out way too late and had a little too much fun, but it was worth it. I did manage to get up the next morning and head to the Farmers Market for flowers, arranged them and then went to pick up sister J for the car show, which was a lot of fun with her along. We spent some time strolling around, it was a beautiful day, and checking out all the cool cars.
After I dropped sister J off, I ran some errands. I had been wanting a new camera, so I basically just upgraded mine and bought this one,
I went from 4.0 megapixels to 12.1, it definitely takes better pictures and it is half of what I paid for the same one 3 years ago! I had been wanting a new one for a while, this is what I would really like,
but I also know that realistically, I am not going to haul it around everywhere.

I also bought this,
why you may ask? Because of this,
I have been working a lot lately. And I have also had a very busy social calendar. So something usually gives there right? You know what it is? Me time. When we were up at the lake I went on my walk every day, and I love it, and I love that time. But when I am home, I usually sacrifice that time, but I need to make more me time. So, I am hoping this will help. I picked this up for the Wii too, but I have not even opened the box yet!
I also got this,
because, that's how I roll I guess. Does anyone have one of these? Any favorite games? I am excited for my nephew to come and bring his games this weekend!

Sunday was SO much fun! We went to an outdoor wine tasting under a tent, but it was a beautiful day, and SO much fun,
there was a group of 9 of us and after we sat on the patio of the restaurant that was sponsoring the event. Wined out at that point, but the PIMMS Royale was so refreshing. After we went to dinner here, delish!

We have seen a couple of screenings lately, but this one was hysterical. SO funny!!!!!
We have also been to a couple of new excellent restaurants. I think my favorite drink of the moment has to be a blood orange mojito. NUM!
We have also been to more wine tastings than I can even count lately. At least one if not two a week and we have been tasting some FABULOUS wines. Makes me feel a little bit better since I had to miss out on the Napa trip with the girls earlier in May because of work.

We went to a Riedel tasting where we were thrilled to meet Max Riedel, 11th generation Riedel.
Fascinating guy, and we had SO much fun chatting with him and learned a ton. I have been to a lot of different tastings, in a lot of different formats, but I think I got the most out of that one. I am actually hoping to do a Riedel tasting for the wine club.

We were also at a private tasting last week where we had some exceptional wines. They were from a local wine buyers private cellar, and it was a ton of fun. There were only 10 of us, so again, we got a ton out of it.
After we had dinner on the patio at a nearby restaurant (not very good), but I loved the lights over the kitchen and the saying on the wall.
Never a dull moment around here. I am busy trying to organize my "ta-da" list, get my Summer reading list together and also plan a few "fun" things. Our friends M & M are getting married in Italy next month, and will be celebrating with a reception here in July. I will be planning her girls night for July, we are doing a rooftop bar hop, should be fun. We also need to rescheude J's birthday dinner, his wife's grandmother passed away and they had to head back to Newport.

Lots of fun things going on, I am just so happy summer is here!
