Weekend Recap!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend! I still am prepping for this test which I am supposed to be taking on Wednesday of this week, but I am sure all will go as best as can be expected. It is one of those things that you can only be as prepared as you are intelligent. I have just been brushing up on some basics (I am TERRIBLE with math!) this is an example of one of the questions
Randolph has 8 ties, 6 pairs of pants, and 4 dress shirts. How many days could he possibly go without wearing the same combination of these three items?
If I change it to 8 polos, 6 pairs of Lilly pants and 4 pairs of ballet flats, it is much easier for me to relate. The answer is 192 days. There are 48 different combinations of ties and shirts (8 different ties for each of the 6 pairs of pants), and then four different shirts for each of these combinations. In numerical form: 8 x 6 x 4 = 192. Just so you don't lose any sleep over it.

The boy and I had a nice weekend. Thursday evening we went out for a bite and then caught up on some DVR'd shows. We love Boston Legal, Criminal Minds and The Office, so we caught those. Friday we met my parents for dinner at a favorite Vietnamese restaurant and then the boy and I saw The Heartbreak Kid and We Own the Night. I would recommend We Own the Night, but I have a problem with some of these comedies that have come out recently. We saw Knocked Up on DVD last weekend and we have also seen What About Chuck as well and it just seems to me like they are putting a lot of unnecessary sex, drugs and language into these movies and that they would actually be BETTER movies if they were PG-13. I mean I am not a total prude or anything, but I would actually like to watch some of these movies with my parents and I don't know that I would have watched any of those with them. We Own the Night was VERY good though and I expect it will be up for awards.

We got up early Saturday, took care of a ton of errands and then headed up to the lake for the last time this year. Kinda sad, but it is getting cold here. We got it all closed up and everything taken care of. His parents and brother were both up there for the first time since Labor Day, it was nice to have the help. We brought a HUGE chicken pot pie up that we had picked up at Costco, very good and a good hearty cold weather meal to have. We played some scrabble and just hung out and enjoyed the last weekend at the lake.

This week is a busy one, wine event, Junior League meeting and a "ghouls" night Friday night that I am really looking forward to. Hopefully you are all staying warm, I have a ton of stuff to get crossed off of the "ta-da" list this week, starting with getting wood delivered and stacked. Looking forward to our first fire tonight. Hope you are all well!

Hee-hee, I love how you change the problem from ties to ballet flats and the math falls right into place!

We watch Boston Legal too, and The Office, but usually not on the night of because it conflicts with Grey's.

Things are getting chilly here too- though we're probably still a few weeks away from our first fire. Closing up the camp sounds like it was cozy. Have a wonderful night tonight. :)

Wonderful weather for fires, isn't it? I'm with you on playing scrabble on hanging "in" some nights. Totally why I'm in love with the change of seasons!
