Must get out

of this rut. Do you ever find yourself in kind of a slump? I am at work right now, which then carries over into home. I can't really get into this new boss of mine. He is not really understanding our team very well and treating the majority of the team like juveniles. He talks down to everyone and I have a hard time taking him seriously. Myself and the other PM in our group have been carrying him for the past couple of months hoping that he would get over this and start to catch on more, but he is just not getting it. He really should not have been promoted and does not have the right background. I am working twice as hard and twice as much as I normally do yet he strolls in around 8 and is gone by 4 and always makes sure to take lunch. We tried to talk to him about this and he said something about the privilege of management. UGH! My co-worker and I are also management, but we know that in order to get the job done, we do what it takes. I am not sure what management school or training he has gotten. He also plays for the other team, which is totally fine, but sometimes he uses it to his advantage and it drives me nuts. I was in his office a week or so ago talking to him about something work related, important mind you and he goes, are you doing something different with your hair? UGH!

Anyway, since I did not get home until almost 7, after being here for 12 hours, I just went home, no dinner and vegged. When what I really needed to do was take down my holiday decorations and get them put away as well as go through some more of my closet. I was in bed by 9 and asleep by 10 though.

Tonight we are going to see the movie premiere of "Notes on a Scandal". Should be good and I am looking forward to it. I am going to leave here on time and go home and make a nice dinner for the boy, his friend and I first though, so we will see how that goes.

Some former co-workers and the boy and I have joined this Get Fit Twin Cities competition which starts next week. I organized it and thus, I am our team captain. There are 6 of us on our team at the moment and we can have up to 10. The competition runs from January 10 to May 10 and the winning team has to have the most percentage of weight lost and the most activity minutes. I thought it would be something fun and different to do, the guys all want to lose weight and get in better shape. There are a ton of fun activity suggestions though so I am looking forward to planning some group outings and such, like ice skating, sledding, roller skating at the Metro Dome and bowling. I also had a good idea last night when reading B H & G for a soup exchange where we all meet at someones house with enough soup in freezer containers for everyone in coolers and then we exchange. We will see how this whole thing goes, our first meeting is next Monday night. I have continued to drop weight over the past couple of months, so I am not sure how much more I want to lose exactly, but I would like to do more and get better toned.

I had to cancel lunch plans with a former co-worker which I am bummed about, but we rescheduled for next week. This new boss needs three updates on projects by noon and I am double booked all morning, go figure.
