Things I am Digging!

What a roller coaster of a week this has been. At least I am getting a lot of work done. Need to focus my energy somewhere.

So here are some of the things I have been coming across over the past couple of weeks. Fun stuff!

Do you ever see the "Life is Good" tee shirts or hats or anything? My sister and I both love them and I just love the saying, nothing could be more perfect and they are always coming up with new and great designs. I don't have any of the tee shirts, a sweatshirt and a few hats and of course my sister and I have matching bumper stickers on our cars, but I loved this new design. Being a project manager I am always tracking action items and this just cracked me up.

Have you guys seen all the bronze stuff at The Container Store??? I just LOVE the stuff! Unfortunately it will not go with the pink decor of my kitchen, but I LOVE to look! The boys brother in law is a high end custom home builder and he recently built a house for a famous MN athlete and it has the first bronze appliances in MN in it. We saw pictures, pretty cool stuff.

These Zone Perfect bars are nummy. I love granola bars and I usually carry something of that sort in my pocketbook with me. These new snack size ones are perfect! Sometimes I try different energy or nutrition bars, and I don't like the flavor. They taste all artificial and stuff. But these are just pure delight! I just ordered a box online, can't wait for them to get here!

The US Open starts in just FOUR days. I cannot wait. I love Wimbledon, I love the French and Australian Open, but there is just something about the excitement of the US Open. Maybe because I have been every year for the past 20 years. Maybe actually going and being there and smelling the fresh rubber of the tennis shoes on the courts. Bumping into players left and right leaving courts, watching some of the up and comers on the smaller side courts (that is my FAVORITE part). It is just the whole thing I guess. I am still working out details for this years trip, it may just be a day in and a day out kind of a thing, but as long as I go, that is all that I care about. Last year it rained NON STOP, the entire time pretty much and they had to delay and cancel a TON of matches which made the lines getting into the open nearly impossible. Luckily I was able to hook up with some of the pros from my team out East and sneak in with them. I wish I was going for opening ceremonies, that is usually my favorite and this year they are calling it "Breaking Barriers" and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Althea Gibsons' womens singles championship victory. I was there last year for BJK. How many professional sports do you know that celebrate women like tennis does??? Cannot WAIT for this year! Any takers on the mens singles???????

Last but not least, I picked this up yesterday in anticipation of a mani/pedi later today. I love the name, Boris and Natasha, it makes me think of the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. This is part of the OPI new fall/winter collection and it is a little dark for me for right now, but it has been dreary and yucky here all week, so this is what I am diggin' for the week!

Hope you all are getting ready for the weekend, I cannot wait to hear details about Kimba's wedding adventures and of course I am sure Suz will have some good Hamptons stories, I am debating about whether or not to go up to the lake with the boy or have a weekend to myself to think about things. It is a really tough call because part of me says there are not that many good lake weekends left, but another part of me says that I have kind of lost myself in a relationship where I am not sure that we want the same things out of life long term and maybe I need to put some distance into it and figure things out. I am also in the market for a new couch and I have not taken the time to go and look for anything, maybe this would be a good opportunity to do that, but I can tell you it would not be nearly as much fun without the boy. Oh, decisions, decisions. . . .

I love the nail polish color. My advice (or rather what I tend to do) is to take a little time this weekend to just be quiet and try to listen to what you need to do. That little inner voice. Take care of yourself. And maybe have a little retail therapy. :o)

I think that's solid advice. A little time to yourself will probably help get some perspective on what's gonig on. Six years is a really long time. On the other hand, it's not an eternity. Huge hugs from Boston, Jilly, HUGE HUGS. xo Libby
