This is MY 150th Post! And Project Post!

So Meg over at My Little Cottage posted her 150th post today, and then I got to thinking I wonder how many posts I have done, and as it turned out, I was at 149. Weird. . . .I loved the trip through her neighborhood though, and it reminded me a lot of mine. I love the older homes, it is one of the reasons why I love going to estate sales with the boy. He and I love to go for drives and walks looking at houses, talking about their curb appeal and such. But of course, one of our favorite activities is heading out on Saturday morning hitting the local estate sales. We have really found some great treasures along the way and this weekend was no exception. I think that if you gave us $500 we could furnish a whole house and do it well. We do have fun doing this. Here are some of the treasures from the weekend. I needed a smaller dresser, so we picked up this one
And then we painted it. I wanted it white for my guest room, and the boy had some ice blue paint, so I thought it would be fun to do the drawers that color, the handles I really didn't like at first, but then he painted them white and I think they look adorable. . . .
I also needed a book shelf for my office, lots of books you know, so we found this
but of course I needed it to match my office so again, we painted it and it turned out like thisNot too bad for a days work, right? We did two chairs as well as crossed a lot of stuff off of the ta-da list which was nice. I am not QUITE done with the chairs yet, I need to get the right fabric, but when I am done with those I will post before and after pictures of those. I really love the way both of these turned out, the quality on both pieces is really very good. I picked up some drawer liners at Crabtree & Evelyn so I should be ready to go with the dresser. Just have to move everything into place of course. Both pieces though with the paint and liners cost a total of $50. Throw in our labor, which was a labor of love, and you still get $50! I do think they turned out sweet!
