Today is the day, the B-day!

I know a lot of people will be using the "F" word around me a lot today. I hate it when people curse. . . .

I have been thinking about some things I want to accomplish in my 40th year, lets see if I can manage this list of 40 things. . . .

40 Things While I am 40

  1. Get back in a regular workout routine
  2. Cook at least four meals per week
  3. Read 40 books
  4. Find a house that we love, get the boy to move in with me
  5. Save $40 per week
  6. Simplify my wardrobe and get rid of what doesn't fit, things I don't wear and stuff that is out of style
  7. Organize my jewelry
  8. Organize my iPod music
  9. Go through contacts and clean up and organize
  10. Plan and run well thought out and exceptional wine events (at least one per month)
    1. April - A Tour Through Willamette Valley
    2. May - Local Vineyard Tour Crofut Family Vineyard
    3. May -
    4. June -
  11. Go through and organize all pictures from when I was a baby on up.
  12. Store all pictures on an external HD and put in a Safety Deposit box
  13. Take more pictures (at least 50 per week)
  14. Take at least one class, cooking, photography, work related, just do it!
  15. Go through cookbooks, weed out the ones that I won't use, don't like and turn into Half-Price Books
  16. Plan and go on one beach vacation with the boy (Looks like it will be Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA in August, just starting to explore this one)
  17. Plan one weekend getaway every month (May - Duluth)
  18. Plan one dinner party or themed party every month (April - Easter, My birthday)
    1. April - Easter
    2. April - My 40th Birthday Party
    3. May -
  19. Blog at least five times a week
  20. Complete my Christmas shopping and be well organized with it by November
  21. Have a manicure/pedicure once a month
  22. Buy my first pair of Bonnanos
  23. Bake at least one thing per month (I am not a baker, not a big sweets eater and not a big fan of baking, but I would like to get better at it, also, no bake desserts DO count!)
  24. Make lunch plans with a friend once a month
  25. Catalogue wine
  26. Get my shoes down to 100, not even sure how many I am at currently, too many? (PS - This does NOT count flip flops, those are a necessity!)
  27. Careerwise, make a move, and decide what the next five years will bring and mean.
  28. Send Birthday cards to family and friends on a regular basis
  29. Try one new recipe per week
  30. Go through cookbooks and plan one recipe from a cookbook every week
  31. Take on my new Leadership Role with the JLM with passion
  32. Go to a Lake Harriet bandshell concert and have a picnic
  33. Make dinner plans with my sister and her husband at least every other month
  34. Take dance lessons with the boy (this is something I have been wanting to do for a while)
  35. Plan a girls weekend with my mom, her sisters, my cousin A and my sister
  36. Laugh daily
  37. Form new friendships
  38. Re-evaluate current friendships, what they mean to me, and how they impact me
  39. Monthly outings and slumber parties with my niece and nephews
  40. Today is a gift, that is why they call it the present, live in the moment! Enjoy and appreciate the little moments.

What a fabulous list! I would expect nothing less from you. Forty has nothing on you (or is you have nothing on forty?). At any rate, you make forty look ideal. The best is yet to come. Wish we could join you to celebrate. XOXO
