Work has been taking up my blog time again, but not to worry, I am still playing Powerball so I am sure to hit it one day.
Last week restaurant week was wonderful. I had the opportunity to check out four restaurants that I had not been to, they were all very good and we really enjoyed them although I must say I think that Oceanaire was probably my favorite but I loved the ambiance at The Chop House and because I was not expecting much was pleasantly surprised. I will say though that the company at Oceanaire definitely added to the whole experience, sister J and T. joined us and it was just a nice relaxing evening.
The boy chose chocolate chip cookies and milk for his dessert, I thought the presentation was wonderful and he looks excited to dive right in.
I have also been busy with the boy working on a few projects lately. First there was this little table that I picked up at an estate sale for my office. I love the three shelf thing it has going on and I think it will be a big help in organizing my office and my days! Here is the before
and after. I like the way it turned out.
This one I need a little help with. I picked this up an occasional sale a few weeks back, it was kind of tough to paint, so the boy helped me out with this one, he loves to paint anyway. . . here is a before
during
and after.
I like the way that it turned out, and we all know that I need all of the space I can get to store wine, but I just cannot figure out where to put it. It doesn't really look right on the floor, I have these other two wine racks,
but I just can't seem to figure out what to do with this one. . . .I am still working on it but suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
We had a really good weekend, did some treasure hunting on Saturday morning and then needing to refuel we stopped at Matt's for a Juicy Lucy which is a hamburger with the cheese on the inside, SO GOOD, and such a dive!
We spend the weekends at the boys, so we headed up that way by way of a couple of movies and some popcorn. We caught Definitely, Maybe which I highly recommend if for nothing else than the scenery. Some great shots of New York, and if this is even possible which I guess it is, homesick. We also saw Be Kind, Rewind with Jack Black. That is a skip it. SO not as funny as we were hoping it would be. Not really even all that entertaining.
Sunday we decided to try out a place for brunch. We both love brunch and while there are not a ton of places up near him, Bella is a place that we both enjoy so we figured we would give it a shot. It was not too bad, but not in my top 5. I think we will stick to HH's and dinners here.
The rest of the day was spent running errands and getting things crossed off of the ta-da list. I stopped by my parents to make sure everything was good there. When I spoke with my parents, they said if it doesn't warm up here and since Easter is so early this year, they may not be back in time. I am sure they were kidding, but with my dad and his golf addiction one never knows. Typically we have dinner with the boys parents on Sunday evenings, but they left for a warmer climate and will be gone for a few weeks so we decided to head back to my house to avoid morning rush hour and to get ready for the week.
Work is interesting at the moment and I had an early meeting this morning in St. Paul. I may have some news later this week, and it could be very good news so keep your fingers crossed! Now I am off to finish some work and later I am off to shop for a new suit for a work meeting Thursday. . . something like this. . .
now if only I was more relaxed so I could wear something cute like this. . .do you think this is too casual for a work meeting? The people I am meeting with are casual, but I just think I should have a more professional appearance, what do you think?

So was Ryan Reynolds HOT? That would be the only reason I'd watch that movie.
My vote goes to the suit! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Good luck!!!
very cool wine rack, could you mount it on the wall?
is that a bog old cookie on his plate?! looks good!
so many projects.. I finally finished mine, I'll try and post it this week.. turned out really cool, in black.
You are the busiest person ever! Did you get that all done in one weekend?? I'm impressed.
I'm certainly not the person to ask about career clothes. I work for a university publisher in CA and could probably come to work in my pjs if I wanted to without raising an eyebrow (I don't, but there's a high tolerance for eccentricity here). People dress more formally in the midwest, right? I remember that my relatives from Iowa would put on their church clothes to fly on an airplane or go out to dinner. In CA we hardly get dressed up for anything at all. There was someone at my wedding in shorts! (Not appropriate, I thought.)
I agree with Cindy, you are the busiest person ever. Always lots of fun in Jillyland! Love your furniture projects, you are one talented girl!
I'm always amazed at how much better things look painted white! I love both those projects!
