Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Last night we headed out to the ballpark for a beautiful evening and the Saints Home opener. We had a great time and got together with some friends for a little tailgating.

I love tailgating and trying different things. It was really hot here last night so I had to think of things that would be easy to eat, but still light. We had some tuna pasta salad, but in a balsamic vinaigrette instead of a cream based dressing. I also chopped up some fruit and we had some mixed fruit, we of course had the regular chips and dip fare and then I made up some chicken kebobs for grilling for the boy and my friend J from out East and I. They were really good and light and refreshing.

The Saints won and it was a great game, we had a lot of fun and it was J from out East, his first Saints game, so that was fun to introduce him to that. I am looking forward to many more games, tailgating and beautiful summer nights.

Busy week here, something every night so planning has been important. Tomorrow night we have a wine dinner which should be a lot of fun and tonight we will be at the boy's setting up for a tag sale which we did not think we were doing but now we are, so that will keep us busy. We have a BBQ Friday, the tag sale Saturday and then a birthday party Saturday night. The boy's niece was supposed to come and stay with us this weekend, but she has too much going on winding down the end of her senior year so we are going to do it in July instead, but it will still be fun.

Oh the Ta-Da list is going to be busy this week!

Looks like summer is really getting into full swing out there- I love the idea of tuna pasta salad in a balsamic vinaigrette, it sounds light and delicious!
