Car Show Weekend!

Friday I went out to the client site again, it was so nice to hop right on the lightrail from downtown and head out there. I met the boy and his friend out at MOA, only one lightrail stop away from the client, and then we grabbed some dinner and went to Zodiac. LONG movie, but good. With the previews it was three hours long. I am usually pretty drained on Friday's and this was no exception, so I think the movie was okay. I didn't nod off anyway.

Saturday the boy and I got up and hit some estate sales, got some fun things and a project which I will post pictures of later tonight. We had lunch with my friend Barry which was really nice and then hit the fabric outlet, looking for fabric to recover his dining room chairs with. I had been to this place once before and it is very overwhelming as it is just floor to ceiling fabric and about 100 aisles, but I thought it was worth a try. We found a couple and also got some good ideas, but of course the one we did find did not have enough to do all 6 chairs so we went over to Joann Fabrics. We found what we were looking for there, but of course I did not have the circular with me which had a 1/2 off coupon in it, so we decided to wait until the next day and stop back and get it. Later we met the boy's parents at the local VFW for some good ol' green beer and corned beef and cabbage. We had a good time hanging out with them, but I am so not used to being in a smoky establishment anymore. I am really glad that Minneapolis passed the smoking ban, it really does make for a more pleasant environment, and if I feel like having a fag with a cocktail, I can go outside and do so.

We stopped at Menards for some supplies as well as Target and then headed home to look at our treasures and get a good nights sleep for the Car Show the next day. We grabbed a paper right away in the morning so that we could head over to Joann Fabrics to pick up what we needed and wouldn't you know it, the paper we grabbed did not have the circular. So we headed to the car show to meet the boy's brother and his girlfriend. Now I am not a big car buff, but we did have a really good time and got to sit in a lot of different cars and do a lot of thinking about our next vehicles. I really like the mid size SUV's with the third seat in back and we both really liked the Acadia and are thinking about going to take it for a test drive tonight. I also really liked the Land Rover LR3 so we are going to go take that for a spin later this week. I really miss my little convertible and would love to have one again someday, but that will have to wait I think. For as much as we haul around right now in my truck, it would be hard not to have one. Ran into a bunch of people from Target and other parts that I had not seen in a while which was fun and then we headed out to his parents for dinner which was really nice.

I love Sunday nights having dinner and watching our shows with them. It is such a nice note to end the weekend on and they are such enjoyable people to be around. We have such a good time watching Grease, You're the One that I Want! and The Amazing Race. We all have our favorites although all along we have all been pulling for the hometown favorite Laura on Grease and it looks like she just may take it all! I have the beauty queens on Amazing Race and so far they are hanging in there. The boy had taken Rob and Amber who were out last week, but he has now picked up another team, can't remember who, so we will see how they do! More pics of our treasures from the weekend later tonight, hope everyone had a good weekend! It is supposed to be in the 60's next weekend here, I hope so!

**Okay, pics posted, I painted the table white to go with everything else. Now the boy, he would have stripped it and redone it, but I like things white and painted!**

Thanks for the review of Zodiac, hubby really wants to see it. I'm glad to know how long it runs so I can put my foot down if he suggests going to a late showing!
